Have you ever had one of those days where it seemed like you were just a little off? There are so many ways I could put it: a french fry short of a happy meal... a day late, a dollar short... 2 planets short of a universe and oh, so many others. As funny as it sounds, the truth is, as I went about my day, I became more and more frustrated with everything that happened and upset about the things that did not.
It was not a horrible day, I just could not figure out why so many things were not coming together and why even my children were at odds with each other. Finally, I took a TIME OUT for me and went to my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. The second I did this, I was reminded that when I woke up, I was busy with one son headed to school and a sick son staying home, I had not taken time to commit my day to God and ask His blessings upon it. The verse "Pray without ceasing" - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 came to my mind as I was contemplating my hectic day and, after my TIME OUT, I became renewed and things were so much better for our entire family. I thank God for who He is and that He cares about my day and wants it to go well too. It is such a good feeling to be able to go to Him at any and all times and that He is ALWAYS there for me. He is there for you too. Go to Him now and commit your day to Him and I promise, it will go so much better! I found this poem and thought it fit beautifully into my life this day and is a great reminder for all of us! Blessings to you all! Time to Pray! I got up early one morning And rushed right into the day; I had so much to accomplish That I didn’t take time to pray. Problems just tumbled about me And heavier became each task. "Why doesn’t GOD help me?" I wondered He answered, "You didn’t ask." I wanted to see joy and beauty But the day toiled on, gray and bleak I wondered why GOD didn’t show me, He said, "But you didn’t even seek." I tried to come into GOD’s presence; I used all my keys on the lock. GOD gently and lovingly chided, "My child, you didn’t knock." I woke up early this morning, And paused before entering the day. I had so much to accomplish, That I had to take time to pray. Anonymous

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. ~Psalm 139:14
Have any of you ever seen an artistic masterpiece that is of great value and highly sought after? A Monet perhaps, or a Van Gogh? Well I tell you that there is an artist of even greater talent whose work is all around us and of priceless value. Just look at the ocean, the trees, the colors in a rainbow and everyone you know. Let's take a look around, even at ourselves... I don’t know about you, but when I look at myself through my own eyes, I see every flaw, but it sure feels good to know that God sees no flaws but every possibility and every plan He has created me for. In all of God's wonder, the thing that amazes me the most is that I am a purposeful and planned creation. He wants me and even created me to be exactly who I am. Truly, I am wonderfully made and you are too! We should praise Him for that just like our verse says. Do not ever doubt that you are wonderful! You were made to be wonderful and all that God made is good. In fact, in all of creation, there is not another person that looks just like you, laughs like you, cries like you, loves like you or sounds like you. No one has the same combination of likes and dislikes or talents and abilities as you, and the truth is... NO ONE EVER WILL! You are an ORIGINAL MASTERPIECE! Are you thanking God for all He created you to be by treating yourself as a priceless work of art? Keep this verse ready on your heart and mind and it will be so much easier to think this way |
